I've actually been considering drawing Pokemon since last year at Fanime, when I randomly doodled a bunch of semi-realistic Pokemon in my sketchbook while sitting with

,

, and

. I haven't scanned them or done anything with them since then. I thought about it, though. Then I forgot, and then once my friend

started doing realistic Pokemon, I started thinking about it again. Of course, he has sort of become the king of realistic Pokemon here on DA since he started drawing them, so admittedly I feel a little intimidated. Still, it might be fun to give it a try. Not sure if I'd make them completely realistic (as in, based purely or almost-purely on science and biology), or if I'd still incorporate their unusual, somewhat fantasy/sci-fi nature.
Another option would be to go the same route that I have for my 'IBN' pieces – create character designs based on Pokemon. I've seen it done several times (I know there's a technical term for it, I just can't remember what it was. "Gijinka", was it?), so I know it's not exactly a new thing. It could still be fun, though.
Or perhaps I could try a bit of both. Or try something else. I'm not sure. Either way, I'd like to know if you guys out there would be interested in seeing some Pokemon-related stuff from me, and if you do, are there any particular Pokemon (in whatever style) you would like to suggest? I might not get to it right away – there are still some other projects in the works at the moment, but I am seriously considering adding Pokemon to my 'to-do' list. ^_^
