Description

This is a new character, called Echo. She actually began as a random personal project - take one unique or interesting aspect of yourself, like a physical characteristic, and morph it into something fantasy or sci-fi...and then just create a character around it. ^_^ The physical trait I picked was actually my heart - I've got twelve metal coils in it, believe it or not. So I played around with ideas until I came up with Echo.

Her story is still in development, and subject to change, but basically she was originally a sorcerer's experiment in trapping and binding spirits in a living person. In an effort to keep his experiment secret, he actually used his apprentice instead of seeking a volunteer from one of the nearby villages. Instead of a heart, Echo has a mechanism of metal and crystal, which acts as an anchor point for the spirits. But since she lacks a heart, those spirits are also the only things keeping her alive. It is also because of them that she does not age normally, and her identity has changed. There are a total of twelve spirits...so she contains thirteen souls, including her own. ^_^ She lives alone in the tower, now - when war came to her homeland, her creator was killed, and much of the tower was ransacked. Those who live nearby now maintain that the tower and its grounds are haunted, because of Echo.

I left the spirit things somewhat sketchy, since I haven't really developed their looks as much. I'll probably go back and do their individual designs later. For now, they're still just vague ideas...but I did want to get Echo's picture done. ^_^ So here it is.
