Under My Umbrella

During the Halloween weekend, the group I play D&D with did a special one-shot Resident Evil campaign. It was highly entertaining, with several occasions where we thought we were all going to die. Personally I was fully expecting to die at some point, since the mortality rate is rather high in previous RE campaigns they've done, but in the end, I survived.

This was my character - a Japanese student called Kei. He wasn't really suited for combat, but he was incredibly intelligent and perceptive, with a lot of knowledge and skills to work with. He was also able to speak multiple languages. And yes, his emotions were difficult to read (had an actual Talent involving that). He was also the wealthiest of the group, being from a rather wealthy household.

His story was that he's 17 but had already been taking some college-level courses, and he spent a lot of time home alone since his parents are often busy with work - his mother worked at a hospital while his father was a scientist. And the ending had a lot open, regarding what will happen with him in the future.

When the group eventually chose to go to his house, some security cameras in the gated community followed him, and once in the house, the home phone rang - it was Dad! Dad told him about a way out of the city (provided they made it in time, and followed instructions) so the group went on one crazy car ride downtown in order to make it. Eventually they found their way into an underground Umbrella facility (not really what any of them were expecting, I think, including Kei), and followed the route through it to a train platform. Group got a surprise flash bomb, and this character ends up grabbed by a man in black and taken on the train, while the others got left behind and had to scramble after it. In the end, only two characters survived the campaign - my character, who was rescued/"secured" by Umbrella (following his father's instructions), and a girl who managed to get on the train and not get herself killed. The campaign ended with those two still on the train (under supervision). Destination: Unknown.

What will happen with him? That's open to speculation.
